Armenia National Flag
The National Flag of Armenia, the Armenian Tricolor, consists of three horizontal stripes of the same width, red the upper, blue the central and orange the lower. The Armenian Supreme Soviet adopted the current flag on 24 August as as 1990. The Law on the National Flag of Armenia was approved by the Armenian Parliament on 15 of June of 2006.

The National Flag of Armenia is no similarity between the first Armenian flag of antiquity and the current tricolor. The last flags showed a dragon, an eagle or some mysterious objects of the gods (sometimes a lion). The flags were fastened to the antlers and guided the armies in battle. With the arrival of Christianity, the Armenian Empire adopted different flags represented to several dynasties. The flag of the Armenia Dynasty, for example, consisted of a red cloth showing two eagles looking at each other, separated by a flower.

The colors of the flag are interpreted differently. It is assumed that the red color symbolizes the blood that the Armenians had to abandon in the defense of their country; the blue color is the sky and the orange color. The fertile soil of the country.

The current national flag of Armenia was in the Democratic Republic of Armenia used (1918-1922), however, by the annexation of Armenia to the USSR from 1922-1991 by the Soviet flag replaced. It remained during the demonstrations in the last days of the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic in the 1980s, a symbol of Armenia’s independence, and on 24 August 08 reintroduced.
