Tonga Flag History
The national flag of Tonga was first raised in 1864, but was officially accepted in 1875. Although since 1900 the country was under British protectorate, the national flag of Tonga remained unchanged throughout the period according to 1970 and has retained its appearance unchanged until today.
Tonga Flag Meaning
It can be used not only the official institutions, but also civilians in the field, as well as private and public ships and merchant marine vessels. The Armed Forces and the Navy of Tonga have their own flags. The main field of the national flag of Tonga painted in a bright red color.
